STENT BIOMIME is a mesh spring tube made of Cobalt Chrome L605 alloy with drug and polymer coating. The medicinal component of the coating is represented by Sirolimus.
Designed to eliminate stenotic lesions for patients during balloon angioplasty and to ensure blood flow in patients with ischemia; increased lumen of coronary arteries of various lengths and configurations with a diameter of 2 to 4.5 mm, with a stenotic lesion size of up to 48 mm
Sirolimus suppresses excessive tissue growth to prevent repeated narrowing at the site of stent implantation. After about 90 days, the process of implantation into the vessel wall is completely completed.
Long-term results: in a large study in which 12 large clinical centers participated, the stent was highly effective. 1 year after installation, the stent thrombosis rate is 0%, cardiovascular events - 2.6%, repeated operations in only 1.7% of cases.
As a result of the effective suppression of excessive tissue growth, the lumen of the artery in the distant period (after 8 months) narrows by only 0.18 mm, which corresponds to the thickness of the new tissue on the surface of the stent.
The stent is pre-installed on the balloon catheter and is located between two bands of platinum-iridium radioisotope markers and is able to straighten and configure under the pressure of the balloon catheter of the delivery system.
